Start Today Have The Best Day Ever.

Something awesome happened to me yesterday.  See yesterday I turned 40.  Now most women would die if they were asked how old they were, but I say why worry about it.  Seriously yesterday was the best day ever for me.

Now I am not comparing it to the day I got married or the days that I met precious little people.  Now that is different those are the special days in your life.  But as far as just days in my life, yesterday was the best.

So what made it so special, it was not that we had a party or anything, I got my wish of just being at home with my family and friends and doing a little work.  Nothing spectacular.  It was relatively quiet.  My husband made me an awesome dinner and his homemade pumpkin cheesecake.  Now that was spectacular, but that is now why yesterday was the best day ever.

See yesterday was the day I found me.  I mean I was totally happy with who I was and where I was in my life.  I mean if I had known how awesome my life could be like this I would have done it 20 years ago.  Now that might sound a little funny, but honestly if I had known that being me, who I am and doing what I want was good enough, I would have been able totally avoid so many things that have caused me angst in my life.

So I look forward to the next 40 years.  Hell I can now see why my grandfather tells everyone is going to live until he is 210.  Because knowing who you are, what you want, and what you can accomplish is absolutely the most aligned feeling I have ever had.  It is balanced.

Balanced is kind of funny to me because I am Libra and the scales are the symbol they assigned to the astrological sign.  I do not buy into all of that, however, I do believe in justice and balance.  And I believe that I have found that even keel.

I no longer worry about what others think.  I am not here to please people.  I do not have time to doubt myself.  I am content with myself.  Are there things in my life I would like to fix sure, but that does not mean I am going to worry about them or let worry eat me alive.

So this is going to be the best day ever and tomorrow will get even better because I know how to make choice to live the life I want.  Why don’t you join me?  Enjoy your life and make it what you want it to be each day.

Happiness, Health, Wealth, and Freedom!

P.S. I made a decision to live my life after watching a cheesy video.  You can too, just decide to get in now

Gen 40 year, welcome to the best is yet to come. When I turned 40, according to my children’s rendition, I cleaned out my closet. I got rid of all those much too young clothes. I have no recollection, but my activity that day must of really impressed them as it was many years later that they shared it with me. 40 is a great time to take all your experience mixed with your maturity and just go for it.

    Hi Gen,
I am happy for you that you grew into yourself, at a pace faster than many others do.
You do reach that point where you recognize what the truly important aspects of your life are, and value them more. That makes for a much happier life.
    Happy Belated Birthday Greetings.

I’m so happy for you, Gen. Most people will never experience what that feels like. And that’s why people are so miserable and they hate everything around them. When you realize that you can do whatever you want and accomplish whatever you want by just being yourself…that’s a golden moment. Be true to yourself…ALWAYS.

Gen, I agree 100%! Every year I say, "This is the best birthday ever! This is the best Christmas ever! This is the best…" (fill in the blank). Because I intend to have the best day ever, the Universe aligns all of the cooperative components to make it so!

Years ago, when my children were small, I noticed adults asking children, "How old are you?" (expecting them to answer) but when the children asked an adult "How old are YOU?" they were chastised for asking such a personal question. At that moment I made a life decision to ALWAYS give my information first before asking someone else a question. So, my children grew up hearing their mother say, "Hi, my name is Linda. I'm 34 years old. How old are you?" And, of course, now, I say, "Hi, my name is Linda. I'm 62 years old. How old are you? Only 40? What a youngster you are!"

And, like your grandpa, I plan to live to be 120, like Moses, who "had clear vision and the vigor of his youth."

    Great post, Gen!

Now, how awesome is this! Turning 40 and loving it. That’s how I felt when I turned 50. With age comes a certain amount of peace and acceptance, along with wisdom too. You are more comfortable with yourself and when that happens the magic begins – you no longer fear some of the challenges and are able to “ride” them more easily. But the magic is also doing things you thought you’d never do, and well, that’s incredible. Life is good. Happy Birthday my friend

Thanks so much Lesly. It was a great day and I have to say that it really is about no longer fearing. I no longer give a crude about what other people think or what they are going to say or do. I have learned I am the only person that I am in charge of and so I can only affect others by being my true, whole self. That matters.

First off, a belated happy birthday to you Gen! Judging from your post, I’m sure it was a blast.

Indeed, knowing who you are, what you want, and what you’ve accomplish play an important role for all of us to having this sense of fulfillment and contentment. When that will happen is really up to us. Sad thing is that many people don’t often find this.

PS. That cheesecake looks so yummy! Can you share the recipe? :)

Thanks so much Adeline. I had a great birthday and I loved it. And yes I believe that coming into who you are can happen at any time . I really wish I had learned to be the is way sooner. I would love to share the recipe, but I truly do not know it. My husband is the one that made it and I might be able to get him to tell me someday, but he thinks that the longer he keeps it a secret, the longer I will keep him around. Since I will not know how to make it. LOL. ;)

    Gen,

Happy 40th birthday – a few weeks late. Forty is actually a wonderful age to be. You have lived a certain amount, experienced a lot, and yet you have many, many years ahead to create whatever it is that you desire.

And I love the fact that you are appreciating today, each day, as the best day of your life. We are blessed to be alive and there is so much that each of us can do in any given day.

Today I attended a local Women’s Prosperity Network Mastermind Breakfast. I love connecting with like minded, goal oriented, caring and successful women who are making a difference in the lives of others. Then I went for a good workout followed by a jacuzzi, sauna and steam at my health club. Then, a nice healthy early dinner and finally, focused on my computer.

I love days like that – connection with others, healthy activity, healthy food and a bit of mind expanding work.

    Warmly,

    Dr. Erica

    Hi Gen,

Here’s wishing you a Happy Belated Birthday and congratulations on giving yourself such an incredible gift.

It is a real inspiration to hear you speak with such passion about owning your life and this will be a very motivational post for many others that need to learn that important lesson, too.

many events occur in our lives that shape us and make us who we are, and when your intentions and your values and goals all align, it is a very liberating time.

You can’t please everyone and it is exhausting to try…just be true to yourself and enjoy life, because you have many, many more years to do just that.

    To your continued life balance,
    Marc
