I am doing a series on free advertising this week and I will be hosting this on both of my blogs because I just believe it is that important. There are so many people that just feel they are doing something wrong, yet the biggest problem I see is that people are not learning how to use the tools they have.

What I Learned From Free Advertising Pt 1

I am one of those leaders that wants to be able to help everyone on my team. I do not care if you really are that broke and cannot upgrade of have money for advertising. I think that having a home based business can help everyone in some way. So recently I got to thinking about something someone had said to me about not being able to do things like solo ads and really start to get leads.

Well first I do not believe that paid advertising is the only way to bring people to your opportunity but I thought okay so here is a chance to learn something new and to help my team at the same time. So I made it my mission to go about finding out more about the free advertising that is available out there.

Now I did not want to do anything that was going to teach my team nasty habits. So I really looked at what I was joining and looking not only for what it could do for someone, but also what skill it could teach them to further their business as well.

Why I’m Teaching Free Advertising

So this is going to be the start of a series of blog posts that I believe will really help those that need to learn how to market. Whether it be in a free advertising environment so they learn the basics of the skills without having a huge cost or for those of you that really do not have the money for an advertising budget.

So before I start I just want you to know that I think attraction and value marketing is the best way to grow your business, but you also need to know how to market in all categories to be able to help everyone that will want to join your team, because everyone has different strengths.

One of the first things I learned while doing this is the amount of other people that I actually knew that I saw doing this. Some of them were leaders in our profession; I am not saying anything bad, it was just interesting to me.

Free Advertising: Free Ad Boards

The first free advertising that I am going to give you some information on is creating your own free ad board. Now why do I like this one, well for a few reasons, the first one being that you can send anyone that is spamming your groups to this page as a resource. Second it makes you learn how to create an ad with just a few words.

This sort of copy writing can be very useful in several places. You can use them not only on these ad boards, but also think places like Twitter or PPC. With learning to entice others to want to know more you will be using curiosity to influence them to click on your ads. So the more you use this resource and test what works best the better you get at writing these short enticing ads.

The ad board that I liked the best was My Free Adboard. You can sign up to receive you own free ad board and then can place your own ads. This is what it looks like all set up. However the other reason that I like it is that you get a lot of benefits from using it. You get the email of those that sign up for the service or place ads on your board. You can then down load them and use them in a mass emailer. (This is a little more of an advanced technique and is not something I would recommend for a beginner, because these leads have to be imported so you can not used a closed loop auto responder such as Aweber.)

Besides the ability to generate leads and learning the art of writing intriguing ads. You also have the opportunity if you wish to upgrade you can, this allows you to be able to email leads from the system, instead of having to have a mass mailer. It also allows you to have more ads on your own board and create revenue from selling ads on the site as well as commission on those that sign up and upgrade under you.

I think that is pretty cool. So if you are looking to work on your short ad copy writing then this would be a great place to start. If you are looking to advertise for free because you really have no money then this is only one of a few ways I am going to show you.
